"Here are the weapons that will become part of each profession’s core proficiencies in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure: Guardian: Axe (main hand), sword (off hand), longbow Revenant: Shield (off hand), greatsword, short bow Warrior: Dagger (main and off hand), pistol (off hand), torch (off hand) 2) The only other class without staff is Engi. Staff definitely suits Warrior better than Engi. Conclusion: Staff Warrior is a good addition. Looking at focus thief, focus is a *magic* and *support* oriented OH. 1) Yes. There are better thief weapons, particularly axe and OH sword, but also maybe torch.
You can google ‘snowcrow’ or ‘metabattle’ for build and weapon set up. Normal if you wanna play power dps, Mesmer (chronomancer) uses greatsword + sword/sword. Activate Thieves Guild basically whenever because Payback only needs 4-5 kills to reset it completely.

Warrior uses it for snares and greater control against multiple targets. Scrapper uses hammer as a versatile weapon capable of good damage, defense and control. Revenant uses hammer as a ranged weapon with defense and control. Out of the four, I found warrior the most fun. I like seeing lots of 'Interrupt' on screen.
