Yeah, I find tempered glass to be a necessity on my phone (most have a hardness of 9 in reference to the Mohs scale). I once dropped my previous phone face down from a distance of approx. 7 feet. The tempered glass became extremely cracked but the screen has no scratch. EDIT: Tempered glass screen's hardness is NOT based on the Mohs scale.
