Actually was relief to get back to Bali after Lombok and the Gillies, cheaper shopping and much better choices for drinking and eating. IMO Sengiggi, and Lombok, is very rural with lots of farming, animals etc, and Gilli T is very overated, touristy and expensive. I would stick with Ubud, much more to do and cut your time down on Lombok. BC
Taxis. Taxis in Lombok are cheap and painlessly flag-downable in busy or touristy areas; do check that your ride is metered. We like Blue Bird Taxi (+62 (0)370 627000). Cidomos, the traditional horse carts, can also be a good way to get around, particularly on the Gili islands, where motorised transport is prohibited.
Nusa Penida is the most developed of the three Nusa islands and you can actually cross to Nusa Ceningan via a bright yellow footbridge.
